K- Beauty – also known as Korean Beauty – scares the living daylight out of me. Every product is supposed to be inherently hydrating. Don’t get me wrong, hydration is absolutely necessary for your skin. Being someone with extremely oily skin however, being more hydrated is the exact opposite of what I typically want. I actually used to avoid hydration at all costs, which just makes things worse, but I’ll write more on that later.
I was so excited when SEPHORA started introducing K-Beauty last year because it’s a type of skincare that is up-an-coming; it’s something new. At first it was just a few products, and now it covers an entire wall. When I saw the two J. One products, I was so intrigued. I had never seen anything like them. They have the Hana Cream, which is a moisturizer that is shaped into small spheres. One sphere is enough for one full application on the face and neck. The other is the Jelly Pack. This is a multitasking product that almost has the consistency of honey. The consistencies and formulas of their products are so different from what America is used to. That’s part of what makes these so exciting.
The J.One Jelly Pack was something that I definitely did not feel like putting on my face, but I am so happy that I did. This product is like nothing I have ever experienced before.
It is marketed as a multitasking skincare product. This can be your treatment, mask, and primer in one (Personally, I prefer to continue with my entire skincare routine before putting this on, but of course you don’t have to). It has the consistency similar to that of honey, but smooths out very well into the skin. It does feel sticky for a bit after the application, however this does not last throughout the day.
BONUS: It has no smell to it!
Application is a little bit more involved than just smoothing a primer on your skin. The directions explain that you should pump this product liberally into your hands, smooth the product over your skin, and pat until absorbed into the skin.
The mildly lengthy application of the product is a small price to pay for how well this product works. I literally can not say enough good things about this product. I do use this primarily as a primer, so I use this every time I do a full face of makeup because of how well it grips my makeup.
This product helps to keep my makeup in places. This means no smears, smudges, or streaks in my makeup. It also helps to maintain my hydration levels. I don’t have to blot five times a day when I wear this; I’ll only blot once.
Bottom Line: Give this product a try. You won’t regret it.
